Promoting equal opportunities for women and men in the banking and financial sector, as well as developing institutional governance based on international standards, remains a top priority today.
In line with these goals, a specialized seminar was held from April 22 to 24 for representatives of the Advisory Councils of commercial banks. Organized by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the event focused on ensuring equal rights and opportunities within the industry. Members of the Advisory Council of JSC "Aloqabank" were among the active participants in this prestigious forum.
The seminar brought together representatives from the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Central Bank, and various international organizations to share insights and recommendations on advancing gender equality within the banking system.
The primary focus was on empowering women in leadership roles of the banking system and increasing the efficiency of the Advisory Councils under commercial banks. During the three-day training and discussions, representatives of the Advisory Councils engaged in in-depth discussions on several key areas:
- Institutional Governance: strengthening the legal and methodological frameworks for workplace gender equality.
- Human Resources Potential: enhancing the professional expertise of women and improving system to prepare women for executive positions.
- Favorable Work Environment: improving labor conditions and fostering equal opportunities based on international best practices.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: implementing modern mechanisms for the continuous monitoring of gender indicators and reporting.
The international and national best practices highlighted during the seminar will enable JSC "Aloqabank" to further strengthen its approach to gender equality, expand women's participation in management, and unlock their professional potential.
